Curiosity to explore, or the urge to know the only possible way.
When we have the answers, we’re less vulnerable. It’s much safer. This provides more guarantees and power. But isn’t that an illusion of power towards events that disregard our knowledge? Aren’t those reliable yet not always correct paths that we choose in pursuit of absolute truth? So when we come to a decisive but chaotic moment, we’re looking for whoever can guarantee that we won’t be overwhelmed by the experiences we’re not ready to face. That said, by refusing a unique personal experience, which is crucial for the formation of our worldview, we’re moving closer to cyclical stability.
The strategy of this photographic research is to maintain the borderline state (equilibrium) between accident and control, between real events and interpretations, observation and taking part. Equilibrium is a zone of tension within a continuum, where both order and chaos have imposing power. This narrow state could hold in itself a hypothetical form of diverse possible times where the most complex event could take place, leading to a stage of total unclearness about what has happened: we’re too late to realize, yet implicit becoming has not yet unfolded.
The immovable monumentality and the denial of supposed stability at the same time become either a trap for those who want the only truth or a body for those who need to create their own authentic way.
